Esta lista é obviamente mais curta que a do Top Álbuns 2007, quer seja pelo número de EPs que saíram, quer por aqueles que adquiri. Deste modo, ficam aqui as minhas (p)referências do ano de 2007:

O 15º lugar da lista do Top Track 31-2007 vem pela mão dos norte-americanos Two Gallants e atende pelo nome "Seems Like Home to Me", extraído do EP 'The Scenery of Farewell'. Um tema arrepiante e que, mesmo nos dias mais quentes, trazem frio à nossa alma.

Ao clicares na imagem abaixo, acedes ao site onde se encontra alojado o referido vídeo. Se carregares em play, mas na linha de controlo, visualizas o dito neste blog. A decisão é contigo, tu é que sabes o que fazer, embora o vídeo apresentado seja o resultado de um concerto apresentado ontem pelos Two Gallants, em Berlim. :P

07-05-33/The Scenery of Farewell [EP] (Two Gallants)

Depois de tantos concertos e festivais ao longo de 2007, nada como regressar a casa e sossegadamente ouvir esta pequena maravilha acústica que o duo texano (actualmente em São Francisco) Two Gallants nos oferece, desde Jun '07: o seu novo EP, 'The Scenery of Farewell', cuja primeira apresentação, num bar em Houston, ficou marcada por alguns incidentes que levaram um dos vocalistas a passar a noite preso.

Se a simplicidade é a palavra chave deste grupo, depois do excelente álbum de 2006, 'What the Toll Tells', o caminho traçado pelos 2GS parece desviar-se simplificadamente com este novo EP.

Apesar de percorrem uma estrada ligeiramente paralela à anterior, nos cinco temas deste EP, os 2GS continuam a apresentar-nos aquela enorme vontade de alimentar os ouvintes de paz, contos, lendas, guitarras acústicas, violinos, casas de madeira, neves e ao mesmo tempo plantas secas, pradarias, cavalos, amores que vão e vêm, solidão, batalhas perdidas e ganhas, perdição, poesia e sempre algo mais que parece nunca terminar no imaginário, por vezes real, dos 2GS.

Destaques especiais para os temas "Seems Like Home to Me" (belíssima), [MP3] e em audição no MySpace da banda, "All Your Faithless Loyalties" e "Linger On". O tema "Lady" tem uma letra formidável: lá pelo meio os meus ouvidos escutam algo que diz: "I count the hours by my coffee spoons". FoRmIdÁvEl!

Este EP é ideal para um domingo soalheiro, onde se faz um passeio a cavalo, onde paramos no meio do campo e bebemos água de uma fonte, onde se volta a casa com a sensação que ainda temos muitas horas desse domingo pela frente. Ajudado pelas colheres de café.

Recomendado, especialmente para os amantes desta baixa fidelidade, sempre em alta.

06-03-07/Two Gallants

Definitivamente e pelo que parece, 2006 será o ano Americano.

Depois de Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, o novo álbum da Cat Power, a Jenny Lewis a solo (+ The Watson Twins), o que ainda está para aparecer dos The Flaming Lips, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, e outros, eis que temos Adam Stephenson e Tyson Vogel a formar os Two Gallants, cujo novo álbum, 'What the toll tells', foi ontem posto à venda e que, com alguma piada, afirmam poder fazer uma digressão pelo Iraque.

Uma espécie de piscar de olhos à Pop, mas com raízes Americanas impregnadas de energia punk.

Em digressão pela Europa, mais especialmente em Inglaterra, este duo anda com um especial destaque pelo single "Las Cruces jail" que pode ser ouvido, no site da mega-indie Saddle Creek.
